H.C. VERMA (HCV) PHYSICS

BHARTI BHAWAN PUBLICATIONS

HC Verma is a book that needs no introduction. Every learner has solved this book, but how to use it effectively has been a mystery for new aspirants. This book is recommended by almost every teacher. The real trick to making it useful lies in the way to use this book.

The book is divided into 2 parts. The book is authored by Harish Chandra Verma popularly known as H C Verma. He was a Professor in the Department of Physics at IIT Kanpur and has also published several notable research papers. This book clearly reflects his experience of teaching Physics and connecting with the students. The popularity and the trust in this book show the competence of H C Verma as an author as well as a Physics teacher. It has 4 sections of questions namely the short answer, Objective I, Objective II, and exercises. Short answer questions are a unique way of delivering the concepts through the question-answer form. Objective I comprise of single correct answer type questions that further deepen your knowledge about the concepts involved. Objective II section contains multiple correct answer types that are even trickier than the last section and can be an eye-opener in terms of conceptual clarity. Then the exercises have numerical questions with incremental difficulty levels and are well structured, smooth, and properly designed. However, the book lacks a little in the solved examples mainly because of the random order of difficulty and is not present in enough quantity.
